As we gear up for the release of the next single, here’s a live-take playthrough (no faking!) for Count Your Losses by @TEMICBAND
Every time I finish a record, I face the inevitable question: How on earth am I going to play this live? The answer requires careful planning, arduous programming, and a little bit of choreography (getting comfortable jumping from keyboard to keyboard). Hopefully this will give you an insight into my nerdy world of keyboards!

i thought at first it was mostly a good implemented track sequence, but this video proves how wrong i was, holy shit dude, it is really really refreshing to see a keyboard player actually play and use all the technology in his hands, no wonder why i liked Temic so much in the first listening of the album. Btw, I'm not against using arpeggiators or tracks, but this is like seeing Jon Lord or Keith Emerson all over again. Great fucking work! shit
Thanks for your super nice comment, Jorge! Yeah, I write electronic music too and love using sequencers, arppegiators, CV, and other stuff, but for this genre, I just have to play it! It's so much fun!

I thought behind the keyboards there was an enormous work…I have seen it’s more even i thought. Simply Amazing. Afeter this even i wolud like more presence of keyboards in the mix. I know your mix it’s perfect for the style, but your work it’s so really good that I want more. And I have to say I wasn’t very friend of keyboard for metal, but on this case i surrrrrender. The evidencie is totally satisfiying 😮. I can’t imagine how tidy you have to be to for setting everything on the stage. Congratulations.

También soy fan de Arturia (en gran parte gracias a ti) y tengo un par de sus synth (MicroFreak, MB, PB) en mi colección. Hi Diego! I never cared all that much for keyboars, even as a Dream Theater fan, but listening to you and watching you play inspired me to start playing as well. I used to play guitar but kinda got bored. Can you help me out a little? There's so much gear out there, I wouldn't even know what to buy... It's not like buying a guitar and a modeler, you have so many CHOICES!!! The stuff you do in Red Giant, those Nil By Mouth sound effects, and also some cool soloing like you and my other keyboard hero Valeriy Stepanov do (damn you both are so awesome, I'd love to see a collab), that's what I'd like to experiment with. Maybe you have some time for a "lesson", how much would that cost? Thanks for being such an inspiration. I was 100% all about guitars, but you completely changed that. Actually, I hate you! Now I have to spend money all over again!
Hey! Thank you for your nice words. I would say a great starting point is to get a good 88key MIDI controller. There are so many options out there at many different prices. My personal favourites are the Arturia keylab88 (either the MK1 or MK2), great value for money and they come with software instruments. Alternatively, the Akai mpk88 - now discontinued - are also good value for money. If you're looking for something small and portable, I would say the Arturia Keystep Pro is great for jamming and writting! Since it comes with a 4 track built-in MIDI sequencer. I'd also reccomend the CME X Keys - for extreme portability. Hope this helps!

I discovered you guys around 2 months ago! I have not listened to another band since! Literally, Haken for 2 months solid. I work in the film industry and I want Haken to be featured in a film soundtrack in the very near future. You guys are too good to be under the radar as you right now!
